The Inspiring Story of Maddox, the Injured Dog
Maddox, a dog resting by the roadside in a watery puddle during a downpour, was rescued by a kind-hearted man named Fahrudin Caki. Maddox was lying still and seemed to have given up, as though saying, “I can’t take it anymore!” Fahrudin asked him if they could work anything out, promising to help him if he did not bite him from the pain.
Fahrudin took Maddox to the vet, where X-rays revealed broken bones and internal injuries. After expert discussions, Maddox was scheduled for spine surgery at a large clinic. Despite the vet’s best efforts to preserve his life, Maddox had a 50% chance of walking again if he responded well to “pinching with scissors.”
Maddox underwent surgery and was resting after waking up. The first post-operative test would be performed over the next two to three days to see if he remained in “deep pain.” Due to the severe lesion on his spinal cord, there was a chance Maddox might never walk again.
Six days after the operation, the overview was not encouraging. Squashed vertebrae were present, and the spinal cord was blue. Although the damaged vertebra was removed, Maddox might need to use a wheelchair for the rest of his life. However, miracles can happen.
Maddox amazed everyone by balancing himself on his legs just 16 days after the operation. The veterinarian is optimistic that Maddox will eventually walk again, as he is a big competitor. Maddox’s recovery is an inspiring story of resilience and the power of human kindness towards animals.
