7 Need-to-Knows About Training

Before you enroll in a training class, here are seven important things to keep in mind:

  1. Age Requirements: Puppy classes are suitable for dogs between 10 weeks and 5 months old. Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced courses are for dogs 5 months or older.
  2. Vaccinations: DPP and Rabies vaccinations are required for dogs over 4 months old. Proof must be provided before participating in the class.
  3. Behavior: Aggressive dogs are not allowed in our classes. If your dog is nervous around others but not aggressive, you can attend class or schedule a free evaluation with a trainer to determine the best approach. Private classes may be recommended.
  4. Class Time: Each group course with 4-10 dogs lasts for 1 hour per week for 6 weeks. Arriving early allows the dogs to familiarize themselves with the environment.
  5. Missed Classes: If you miss a class, contact your trainer to discuss make-up session options.
  6. Gear: Bring yummy, small bite treats each week. You may also bring a toy, chew, or blanket, but they are not mandatory. Various collars, harnesses, and leashes are acceptable, but please avoid choke chains, prong collars, or electronic collars.
  7. Dress Code: Wear comfortable, non-slip shoes and leave personal belongings at home.
