Man’s Unwavering Determination Pays Off as He Reunites with His Lost Dog After 4 Years
In 2016, Michael Joy and his family were preparing to embark on a road trip when their three dogs went missing. While two of them returned, their beloved 4-month-old Lab mix named Sam was nowhere to be found. Despite scouring the local area and checking neighboring shelters, Joy was unable to locate Sam and was forced to leave without him.
However, Joy refused to give up on his beloved puppy, and his determination never waned. He tirelessly searched the internet and kept a close eye on the shelters’ pages in the hopes of finding any news of Sam’s whereabouts.
Even after relocating to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Joy continued to make trips back to Georgia, hoping to catch a glimpse of Sam. It wasn’t until five long years later when he received an unexpected call from City Dogs Cleveland.
When they told Joy that they had found Sam, he could hardly believe it. The rescue had scanned Sam for a microchip during a medical examination, which led to Joy’s long-awaited reunion with his furry friend.
Despite an eight-hour drive to Ohio, Joy eagerly made the journey to see Sam, who had changed in appearance as well. When they finally met, Sam was initially confused by his father’s altered appearance but soon recognized him, bouncing and wagging his tail in excitement.
