He Never Expected His Pet Life to Be Like That!
In early November, NAFAF received a distress call about a severely emaciated pet that had been locked away in a dark storage room. The poor animal was barely alive, weighing in at 50 pounds less than he should have, and his pale gums were a sign of anemia. Even so, he still had a will to live and tried to resist when we first approached him.
Sadly, he eventually passed out due to his weakened state, and we feared the worst for him. However, he managed to pull through and even regained some of his strength after receiving fluids and medication. Although he still had pressure sores and other health issues, he began to warm up to us and even played with a toy we gave him.
Seeing him gain an appetite again was a breakthrough, and he eagerly gobbled up his food. We were delighted to witness his recovery and his newfound trust in humans. A few weeks after rescuing him, he had gained five pounds and was much more lively, although still quite skinny and weak. But with encouragement and playtime with his new toy, he began to improve even more.
While he still had some bad habits, such as lying down while eating, we found creative ways to keep him motivated and help him stand up. Spaghetti, as we called him, was still timid and scared, but with love and patience, we knew he would continue to progress. His story soon went viral, and we received an outpouring of well-wishes and support from people who had been touched by his resilience and our efforts to help him.
