Dog Sports

Hey there, dog lovers! Are you ready for some pawsome news? Today, we’re diving into the captivating world of Sue Verbocy, a true pioneer in the world of dog sports. HOT NEWS DAY brings you an exclusive glimpse into Sue’s remarkable journey, where passion, perseverance, and pure love for dogs intertwine.

A Love That Started Early

Sue’s love affair with dogs began at a tender age, and it wasn’t long before she found her favorite breed – Vizslas, in 2001. But it was in 2003 that she stumbled upon her true calling – agility. With her first Vizsla, MACH 4 Molson, Sue faced an uphill battle. Molson was noise sensitive and lacked the same zeal for agility as Sue did. Yet, their unwavering determination paved the way for remarkable achievements.

A Trailblazer’s Journey

Together, Sue and Molson accomplished extraordinary feats, making history along the way. Molson became the first Vizsla to earn a CATCH in CPE and the first Vizsla in NYS to earn a MACH in AKC. Not only that, but he also found himself among the top five in his breed for several years. Their journey took them to the very first AKC Agility Invitational in Long Beach, CA, and many more AKC Nationals.

But Sue’s journey didn’t end there. MACH 6 Blaze, her second dog, displayed exceptional skills, competing in finals two years in a row. Their adventures led them to the prestigious AKC Invitational in Orlando, FL, and the AKC Nationals in Reno, NV, where they secured an impressive 4th place in finals. And while Sue was excelling with Blaze, she was also training Zest, resulting in two of the top five dogs at the AKC Invitational.

Constant Learning and Growth

Sue’s success as a dog sports enthusiast and instructor is not just a result of natural talent, but of her insatiable thirst for knowledge. She has been fortunate enough to learn from a diverse range of mentors, both nationally and internationally. Sue firmly believes that agility is an ever-evolving discipline, and one must never stop learning.

Creating Champions, One Handler at a Time

Sue’s dedication to constant growth extends to her role as an instructor. She attends seminars, both in-person and online, to push her boundaries and explore new methods. After honing her skills with her own dogs, she shares her valuable insights and handling options with her students. Sue heavily incorporates the One Mind Dogs method into her training, but she has also developed her own unique handling system, drawing inspiration from her mentors.

As an instructor, Sue’s ultimate goal is to help her students discover the handling style that best suits their canine partners. She understands that every team is unique and emphasizes the importance of fine-tuning handling options as skills improve. Witnessing her students excel and accomplish things they once deemed impossible brings her sheer joy.
