When Denver passed a bill to allow dogs on restaurant patios we were doggone grateful. Whether you want to recreate your own “Lady and the Tramp” moment, grab a drink (water for pup; he’s not 21), or gorge on a classic greasy brunch, we sniffed out some of the best dog-friendly restaurant and bar patios in Denver.
Denver Dog-Friendly Restaurant Patios
Guy Fieri fur-got the most important D: diners, drive-ins, dives, and dogs. We think these dog-friendly patios would wow the Mayor of Flavor Town.
1. Just Be Kitchen
Barking of Triple D,Just Be Kitchen was featured on the show, so you know it’s a mutts-visit. They cater to health buffs, paleo eaters, and those with gluten, dairy, and/or grain allergies. Doggo will dig the paleo dog treats and socializing with the resident restaurant doggos, Savi and Oreo.
2. Highlands Cork & Coffee
Do you love your pup a-latte? Head over to Denver’s Highlands Cork & Coffee and get yourself a caffeine fix while pup socializes on the dog-friendly patio! There’s lots of fun to be found and coffee to be sipped while your canine enjoys some head pats and complimentary water. Don’t forget to grab a quick bite for yourself, and don’t worry, there are plenty of treats for puppers too.
3. Postino – LoHi
Did you say bruschetta? More like bruschett-hell yeah! Postino – LoHi is going to be your next favorite dog-friendly Denver restaurant. With their amazing weekend brunch menu and doggy water bowls, you and pup are sure to make some great friends and munch on some scrumptious Italian fare.
4. Forest Room 5
Want a taste of camping without leaving the city? Head toForest Room 5 in the Highlands. Featuring a creek, tall trees, fire pits, an airstream trailer, a treehouse, and s’mores on the menu, pup’ll ruv this woodsy dinner adventure. Just make sure he knows not to hike his leg just anywhere.
5. Denver Biscuit Co.
Featuring four locations in the metro,Denver Biscuit Company is a delicious brunch staple of the Mile High. Each location tends to be hoppin’, so easily overstimulated pups might prefer takeout at the park. They don’t take reservations, so prepare to wait in line Portlandia style.
6. SubCulture
Cozied up in Cap Hill, SubCulture is a definite lunchtime fave. SubCulture serves up a delicious assortment of cocktails, beers, and subs with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, including vegan, vegetarian, and GF options. Your fren will have fun soaking up the sun (or chillin’ in the shade) on their spacious patio and enjoyin’ free snaccs from staff.
7. G B Fish and Chips
We love that the shaded patio at G B Fish and Chips overlooks scenic Sloan’s Lake, making for a romantic rover date. This classic fast-casual restaurant boasts delish fish and chips, as well as other hearty British fare like oysters, bangers, and meat pies. After you stuff yourself silly, enjoy a lovely stroll along the Sloan’s Lake trail.
8. Shells and Sauce
Craving Italian food? Shells and Sauce has ya covered for a special date night. Situated in the heart of the Congress Park neighborhood, they shine with a selection of pastas and seafood. If brunch is more up your alley, they also serve up the classics on weekends. The patio is intimate, so be sure pup is chill.
Denver Dog-Friendly Bar Patios
For dog sakes, sometimes we just need a drink and pup snuggles at the same darn time! Even if doggo can’t hold his licker, he can still hold his own at these dog-friendly bars in Denver. Head to one (or heck, a few) to really get pup’s tail wagging.
9. Denver Watering Bowl
We are BIG Denver Watering Bowl stans for puppin’ good reasons. Dogs are the stars of this Glendale area bar, which hosts a dog-of-the-month contest for the prize of a doggy cake, pitcher, and pizza. Doggos’ll go mutts for their 700-square-foot off-leash dog park and pup pools. Hoomans will love BOGO pizza on Mutt Mondays, Terrier Taco Tuesday Deals, and nightly (9-11 p.m.) $5 Golden Retriever Ale pitchers.
10. Recess Beer Garden
If you’ve never tasted the spicy magic of green chili tots or green chili artichoke dip, then Recess Beer Garden is a mutts-try! The multi-leveled patio seating provides places to socialize and let onlookers bask in pup’s furry glory, as well as corner spots for shy pups. Peeps appreciate the fun atmosphere, ample beer selection, freshly-smoked meats, and yappy hour specials. Nestled in the Highlands, Recess Bar is a bitchin’ spot for a night on the town with yours drooly.
11. Denver Beer Co
Doesn’t an ice cold beer sound amazing right now? We agree. Ask your pup if they are in the mood for some treats, then get over to Denver Beer Co. and taste one of 12+ brews on tap. Hungry too? Don’t sweat it, because this dog-lovin’ bar is BYOF (bring your own food) with different food truck options daily.
12. Ugly Dog Sports Cafe
Even though your floof is the most beautiful in the whole world, he’ll still love Ugly Dog Sports Cafe. This North Denver sports bar boasts an outdoor dog park and a haute dog dining menu, which includes signature bowls of eggs, bacon, and half-pound beef patties. You’ll love their classic drink selection and pub fare, especially the build-your-own Chicago and New York-style hot dogs.
13. Lazy Dog
With two locations in the Denver metro, Lazy Dog’s patios are hopping places for fluffs. Lazy Dog even has a dog menu featuring burger patties and grilled chicken (both served with brown rice and veg). With sammies, noodles, salads, and more, hoomans will find something for everypuppy (even vegetarian and gluten-sensitive folks).
14. Stoney’s Uptown Joint
Are you a sports fanatic? Whether you wanna cheer on the Rockies or watch an overseas cricket game, check out the locally-owned, Colorado-themed Stoney’s Uptown Joint, located in Cap Hill. The bar features classic American fare, weekend brunch, and all-you-can-eat wing Wednesdays. Doggos welcome on the patio.
15. The Matchbox
Located in RiNo, The Matchbox features stiff drinks, a wide beer selection, and a dog-friendly patio. Hungry? Check out one of the rotating food trucks that park out front. Pup’ll love joining you in a game of bocce (ball is life). This spot gets crowded, so be sure to get there early.

With a name like Pub Dog, there’s no guessing whether this Colorado Springs bar is the place to be with your pup! While this dog-friendly bar and restaurant is welcoming to your pet inside and out, the patio is the wow factor. With amazing drinks and snacks for you and 3,000 square feet of fenced-in green space and a full dog menu for your fren, this dog-friendly hot spot is doggone fantastic.
17. Lazy Dog—Aurora, Colorado Springs, and Westminster
Where can you satisfy your craving for burgers, brews, and your sweet tooth all alongside your furry best friend? We may have included Lazy Dog in the Denver listings, but you can find it outside of the city too.
18. The Cow, An Eatery—Morrison
If you’re in dog-friendly Morrison, then we’re jealous because you can head to The Cow, An Eatery with your dog. If their unique breakfast and “linner” menus don’t have you sold yet, then you need to check out their drinks too! Your pup can grab a drink and a treat on their dog-friendly outdoor patio and maybe steal a fry or two from you.
19. Romero’s K9 Club and Tap House—Lafayette
Wanna go where everyone knows your name *and* your dog’s? Head to Romero’s K9 Club and Tap House. For a $5 day pass, let pup get loose in the off-leash dog area of the outdoor beer garden. You’ll love the rotating food trucks and robust beer menu. Dogs are welcome inside and out! Pre-register your K9 here, and get ready for a day to remember.
