Rescuing a Starving Mother Dog and her Puppy
One day while driving, we stumbled upon a mother dog and her puppy wandering near a drainage pipe. The mother was nothing but skin and bones and the puppy was in a similar condition. We didn’t know how long they had been starving, but we knew we had to help. We gave them a loaf of bread, but the puppy ate most of it. We searched for the rest of the litter, but they were nowhere to be found.
We were moved to tears seeing the mother’s condition. We took them with us, and gave them extra milk and food. We knew we had to be careful with their diet, as they may not be able to handle heavy food. We decided to take them to the vet for proper treatment.
The mother dog, who we named Jackfruit, was diagnosed with high leukemia and infections. The puppy, named Sweet, was also suffering from infections and malnourishment. They needed extensive treatment, and we appealed to people for help.
Despite the challenges, we were determined to help Jackfruit and Sweet. We fed them nutritious food and took them to the vet regularly. On day 4, we saw a glimmer of hope as Sweet started to recover. Jackfruit’s condition also started to improve gradually.
We visited them every day, bringing them boiled eggs and other nutritious food. We could see their bond growing stronger, and it gave us hope. On day 10, we witnessed the love and sacrifice of a mother as Jackfruit continued to care for her puppy, even though she had no milk left to give.
After several days of treatment and care, Jackfruit and Sweet were on the road to recovery. We were overwhelmed with joy when we saw them getting better each day. This experience made us realize that every life matters, and even the smallest act of kindness can make a huge difference.
